Star Distribution has made community involvement and support a foundational priority for our entire organization. We are proud to be part of the Plant City community and participate in many local opportunities supporting our city and those who make the Plant City area their home.

Several members of the Jimenez family seen above serve or are heavily involved with local boards: The Plant City Chamber of Commerce, Plant City Main Street, Plant City Economic Development Council, and the United Food Bank of Plant City.

In addition to the organizations Star team members work with, Star contributes to a variety of community events, including Unity in the Community events such as the annual Clay Shoot and the United Food Bank of Plant City’s Annual Celebrity Chef Dinner. Both of these long-standing fundraising events serve members of the community with assistance with their basic needs.

In fact, the United Food Bank has held a significant place in the life of Star’s founder, Larry Jimenez, Sr., who began volunteering there as a child with his mother. Now, Josh Jimenez’s wife, Kendelle, is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the United Food Bank. Not only does Star provide financial support to the food bank, but Star provides warehousing services and helps to connect the food bank with Star’s clients when there is an opportunity.

On February 1, 2020, the United Food Bank held its 12^th Annual Celebrity Chef fundraising event. The annual event featured Chef Amy Freeze and local strawberry growers, Carl and DeeDee Grooms. Star Distribution continued its long tradition of support as a Presenting Sponsor of the festivities and will continue to impact local community organizations through community service projects and financial support for years to come.
